Restoring Trust in Harris County Courts

The Harris County District Clerk's Office has struggled with issues that has weakened public confidence. Concerns regarding transparency, processing delays, issues with budgetary oversight, antiquated systems, and staffing challenges have frustrated the courts and residents seeking timely justice. It's clear that our courts deserve leadership that is rooted in Compassion, Accountability, Results, and Efficiency.

As a trusted healthcare professional, non-profit leader, and lifelong community advocate, I’ve dedicated my career to systems that are designed to serve people, not frustrate them. As your next District Clerk, I will implement the C.A.R.E. Plan to ensure our courts are truly working for the people of Harris County.

A C.A.R.E. Plan for Harris County

COMPASSION

As your next District Clerk I will ensure every resident who interacts with the court system is treated with dignity, patience, and respect. Justice should never feel cold or confusing. Initiatives will be put in place to improve communication, provide user friendly services and improve the customer experience.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Leadership requires accountability for taxpayers, employees, and justice. I will ensure every dollar is transparent, every decision ethical, and every employee supported. Harris County deserves a clerk's office that that is organized, dependable, and maintains the integrity of the courts records. I will implement modern tracking systems, regular audits, and clear public reporting to guarantee high reliability.

RESULTS

Promises should lead to progress. I aim for real improvements that Harris County residents can see in real time. My goal is to reduce document processing times by 30% within the first year through improved automation and staff training. Factual reports showing budget use and community feedback trends will be produced quarterly.

EFFICIENCY

The District Clerks office will be modernized so it works for the people, not against them. From faster filings to responsive online tools, efficiency will be our gold standard. Costs and wait times will be decreased through digitization of burdensome paperwork. Interdepartmental processes will be improved to prevent misplaced files and delays.
